Van Gogh Chalk Paint Arriving in 2 Weeks!

Good Afternoon!  I'm pleased to announce I'll be an official van Gogh Chalk Paint "Paintologist".  My shop at Mega Mall will carry the paint, wax, table top finish and select furniture makeup.  If you aren't in the Lansing area but want to try van Gogh within the US, please email me at luckystarlane@gmail.com for shipping information.

So far I only have a few colors to play with, but my big order is coming in about 2 weeks time.
Pictured is Chivalry with clear wax, Chivalry with dark wax and Balsamic top, and Diva with a different brand of metallic paint and van Gogh dark wax.  What do you think?

Old Church Pew Transformation

This week is a busy week for all the junkers here in Mid Michigan.  Now that the weather is finally turning around for the better, people are having yard sales and garage sales galore.  The nearby campus of MSU is filled with curbside furniture from students vacating and not wanting to move stuff.   It's a junker's paradise!

The old 8 foot church pew is actually a Craigslist pick.  I got it for a steal and it came with two old milk cans (also painted mauve).

Now for my highly distractible ways.....this is an old 1970's bike that I bought for my kids to ride but it doesn't work.  It was really rusty so I spray painted it with outdoor spray paint from Valspar (Lowe's) in peacock blue gloss.  I wanted to turn it into garden art.
The basket is from Homegoods ($6.99). I tied it to the handle bars with twine.  I want to put red geraniums in it!

Now back to the church pew...This is a side view.  I scraped it and painted it white with Reclaim bright white.   It has so many layers of paint that it looks pretty chunky but I don't care.  It's shabby and cool.

I found a bunch of colorful pillows at Homegoods to display on it at my new booth at Mega Mall in Lansing, MI.  It looks like a rainbow...I used to love rainbow colors as a kid.  I'm a straight, middle aged mom and I like rainbows!  Call me crazy.

Have  a great weekend!

Old Plastic Kids Easel Gets a Facelift with RECLAIM

I picked this toy easel up at Goodwill for $5.  It was dirty but not cracked or broken.

Here it is after 3 coats of Country Living RECLAIM and some Martha Stewart chalkboard paint from Michael's.
RECLAIM is an awesome eco friendly paint that bonds to almost anything.  You can paint, wood, metal, plastic, glass, tile, linoleum, varnish, masonry, and laminate with it.   It's eco friendly, non toxic and no odor.   It's also made in USA!
