A Little Girl Hoodie

I made this hoodie this weekend for a friend's daughter, Hanna.  Her birthday party was yesterday, but Holden got sick and we weren't able to go.  I waited to post it, as I'm giving it to Sara (her mom and Holden's daycare provider - we LOVE her) tomorrow and I didn't want to ruin the surprise.  I know she's not going to see it before tomorrow if I post it this late!

I used the Recycled T-Shirt Hoodie pattern from Lil Blue Boo that I used for the LBB/Dharma Trading Co. challenge.  I have to say that it is easy to begin with, but making it a few times really simplifies things.  We used to cut up old T-shirts to use as rags around the house, but not anymore!  I'm even thinking about taking a little trip to Volunteers of America to find some cool T-shirts to repurpose!  It's so fun!

The teal damask was a shirt that I loved, but the fit was all wrong and it was really not flattering.  The black was some knit in my mom's stash from the 80's...There will be some more 80's fun around here over the next few months as I use up the knits she gave me.  It's kind of colorful and definitely fun!

Sorry for the horrible photo....Michigan's idea of natural light seems to be SEVERELY lacking!  Sara is quite the photographer, so maybe I can get her to send me a picture of Hanna in this hoodie...She's adorable and I can't wait to see how it fits her (she's super tiny!).
