I hate to admit but I was really looking forward to some crafty time where I could get messy and do whatever I want without kids and husband distracting me. I'm really lucky to have time alone and time with a great husband and sons...it's a good balance.
Here is an old book I've had in my craft room waiting to be made into a wreath for a few months now. I saw so many cool book wreaths online around Christmas time but I was too busy to make one.
The book is already old and aged, but I distressed the edges with this distressing ink I bought at JoAnn's. (If you guess the book you get a prize by the way.)

I cut out a circle of cardboard and a circle of green card stock to start with and glued them together. Then I started rolling the book pages and gluing with hot glue at the top and bottom of where the edges lined up. Next I started gluing them around the cardboard/card stock circle.
This is the back.
After I did two rows of book pages, I cut smaller pieces in a printed scrapbook paper I bought at JoAnn's and made one row of smaller rolls to glue for the last row.

I distressed these paper edges, too. I ended up cutting out another circle out of card stock for the center and gluing it on.

I had this star laying around I bought at Dollar Tree so I distressed it with some brown paint and wired it through the center. Then I made a loop on the back with the remaining wire for hanging.

I love this wreath! St Patrick's day is quickly becoming a favorite holiday of mine.
And the book is Last Train From Berlin. Does that just make me a little lame that I know it?

I love how you did this. I've seen thes before but I really like how you rolled the book pages as opposed to the cone method I've seen. Thanks for showing how you did it.
Oh I love this! It looks so easy to make but so chic all at the same time!

I REALLY like this wreath! It is great for a splash of color and doesn't SCREAM St. Patty's Day! Great transitional wreath idea! Thanks!
