Welcome to the first ever Lucky Star Search!
In honor of Earth Day on April 22, we thought re-purposing something was going to be our theme. How about a pair of old jeans? I had a pair in my closet that I owned since before my first son was born and I was deeply attached to them. Unfortunately they had about 10 holes so I had to stop wearing them. I just couldn't get rid of them...(no way!)...had to make something with them! You may have something like this in your closet, or may want to hit Goodwill or Volunteers of America (I got a really cool pair this week for $.50....just needed a good sterile wash cycle!)
We want to see what you can make with an old pair of jeans. The rules are as follows:
1. All entries must be received by April 30, 2010 at midnight EST
2. Entries must consist of an item created by you using jeans, jean shorts, cropped jeans, or a jean jacket. The main element of the project needs to be jean material. You can cut, staple, weave, glue, sew, sand, paint...really anything you can think of to create something using recycled denim. Buying new denim off the bolt is not allowed! :)
3. You do not need to have a blog to enter. Please submit a maximum of TWO photos per entry to this email address: luckystarlane@gmail.com.
Only items submitted to this email address marked LUCKY STAR SEARCH will be considered. We will send you a confirmation email so you know we received your entry.
4. There is no limit to the amount of entries one person submits.
5. We will set up a MckLinky on April 30 for any blog posts you made with information about items you entered. These will not be official contest entries.
6. We may showcase your photos on our blog during the contest. We will absolutely give you credit and link to your blog if applicable!
7. Items submitted must not be currently for sale on Etsy or any other website. We encourage you to sell your products after the contest!
9. Heather and Erin will choose the top 12 entries and post on May 2, 2010 and then put the vote up to you, our wonderful readers.
8. Winners will be announced on May 10, 2010. We will email the winners after they have been announced.

got here in a really roundabout way -- i can't wait to see what people come up with. i made some jeans things, but now have another pile of jeans stacked up and waiting. i need some fresh ideas.
