Fall Decorating at Erin's house

Hello Fall.  You've come to visit my house today and I like it.  It feels cool, breezy, and crisp.

I felt like getting my fall decorations out so this is my start to transforming the house.  I also added old books to my cabinet even though I am still collecting the white milk glass.  I just need to find more but it's a slow process collecting.
If you've been around LSL for awhile, some of these things look familiar from last year.   I have more fall ideas in my head so stay tuned for more! Have you started to get out your fall decor?

I hung this from my tree outside.  I made it using a vintage farm dress, old lace, designer quilt fabric, and grosgrain ribbon.   Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend.

Autumn Jack-o-Lantern

I know Jack-O-Lanterns are supposed to be for Halloween, but I'm a little behind, so I'm hoping we can just pretend they're for fall too.  Anyway, I had this vase sitting around and I wanted to etch something on it.  I have a hard time making the stencils work for rounded, bulbous type shapes like this so I wanted to do something easy.  I thought a Jack-o-Lantern would be easy and cute.  It was!

It is SO difficult to get etched glass to show up well in a picture, especially on a rounded surface...So, pretend you can see the jack-o-lantern face, okay?  I've used my awful amazing Photoshop skills to highlight the eyes and mouth...See here?

So, between my lack of Photoshop skills and my tardiness this has been quite the self-esteem booster!  Oh well, life has its moments right?  You should really etch something though.  Most of the time it turns out awesome (especially if you have a flatter surface and a good stencil) and it will make you feel nice and crafty!

I've been working on a few projects that I'd like to share, but it'll have to wait until I don't have a toddler pulling my leg and vying for my attention...Hope to be back soon :)

Halloween Dining Room (Almost Done)

This is what I have ready for the Trick or Treat party so far! I have some very tempting candy and treats out that my kids like to drool over. I also have some of my mom's milk glass pieces I am using as treat bowls. My favorite is the candy bowl in front. I added black chandelier shades that I purchased for $2.99 each at Tuesday Morning and some black velvety/leafy garland I bought from Target last year to the light fixture. (I really want a new fixture but haven't decided what yet.)
This frame is one of the things I spray painted in the black metallic spray paint. I added the Clapsaddle image on a black piece of cardstock. (it is actually a post card)

I put the black spray painted flowers in this centerpiece with some old candles I had left over from my wedding. Yes, I have been married like 8 or 9 years now!
If I decide to light the candles I will take the flowers out because those things are probably pretty flammable! (it's just for looks)

This is the buffet so far...I found the old vanity mirror frame at the antique mall. I am going to add a spooky menu written on the black piece of paper I cut to fit where the mirror used to be. This big mirror is also a refurbished antique and I just added a black monogram decal.

A new scrolly piece I found at Hobby Lobby for $15 above the window. I really love my shutters and wish I had them everywhere in the house. They are so easy to clean and I love the way they look. My husband hates fabric so this works well for him, too!

Ready for treat bags!
